Committees Work to Improve the Bar

Committees are an essential part of the DMBA and are responsible for many of the most important programs and events the Bar provides. All committees report directly to the Board of Directors.

Board committees are specifically charged with governance and administrative activities for the DMBA Board of Directors and the association. They are authorized at the Board's annual retreat and are chaired by Board members. These committees are responsible for Communications, Strategic Partnerships, Membership and Special Events.

In addition to Board Committees, the DMBA has a number of Standing Committees empowered to administer specific areas of interest to the Association and its members. These committees are responsible for the development and maintenance of programs related to Continuing Legal Education, Lawyer Referral, Access to Justice, Judicial Candidate Evaluation, and the Wayne County Courts. Members of these committees are appointed to serve by the President.
